Embodying the Good News as Justice

The Starting Point

The setting or place that theology is found in determines what God is doing and how God is involved in the affairs of God’s people.  As liberation theologian James Cone says "Each theology is characterized by its struggle against the dominance of Europe and North America and by its creative attempt to fashion a perspective on the gospel that arises out of the people's struggle to liberate themselves from oppression."  In this time of unparalleled injustice throughout the globe that oppresses, subjugates, and appropriates human life, responses are required that speak life and seek justice in these matters are important for the well-being of human family.  This fact holds true for those who profess a particular religious faith and those who do not, because justice is a common human need for all—no matter if they believe in God or not.  Moreover, this fact is extremely important for those who reside in the urban centers of these United States who experience the injustice of excessive police brutality, food deserts, economic disenfranchisement, and violence on a daily bases.  These folk, who reside in these centers are predominately African American, Latino/Hispanic, and Asian/Pacific Islanders.  From New York to Chicago down to Atlanta and New Orleans and out to Los Angeles and Oakland folk from these communities are calling for a response.  A response that gives them the good news.

                  The Revelatory Relevant Good News

From a biblical perspective and from the teachings of Jesus, justice is the response of God for all of God's people who are victims of injustice (evil).  The proverbial writer says "When justice is done, it is a joy to the righteous, but dismay to evildoers" (Proverbs 21:15).  This is why African Americans exclaim that "Black Lives Matter," as a response to the unwarranted killing of Black men by law enforcement throughout the country.  God's justice tells us that God is aware of the injustices that cause death and distress to Black life.  And, more importantly, that God is ready to act on behalf of Black lives.  In this context, as Latin American liberation theologian Pablo Richard asserts "God's Word becomes a source of hope and life," as it always has been for African Americans since their involuntary arrival on eastern shores of the United States.  And, even though their evangelization was achieved by unjustifiable means, “the Word of God has been a source for survival and resistance for Black people, because it offered them "an inspiration for alternatives and utopias" that gave them hope.  A liberative evangelism or liberative sharing of God's good news tells Black men and women who face insurmountable brutality by law enforcement that Black Lives Matter because the good news," as Cone says "is also a prophetic word about the righteousness of God that must be spoke in clear, strong, and uncompromising language."  In that, the good news speaks the truth to power and proclaims justice wherever injustice shows its despicable face.  Moreover, the gospel "demands that I (we) take a side, and that side is always the side of the oppressed," as Dr. Keith A. Burton says.

                                                       God's justice tells us that God is with us. 

The Good News Addresses the Issue

As a prophetic word about God's justice for African Americans who face extreme police violence, Jesus says very cogently through his recitation of the Prophet Isaiah's words in the Lukan text "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor" (Luke 4: 18-19).  In these prophetic words, Jesus announces God's justice. As evangelistic servants and witnesses of God's word, we are (I am) called to do the same in this time of gross police brutality against Black men and women.  Dr. Mark Teasdale asserts "The Incarnation of Jesus is the promise of God to meet people in every time and place with the fullness of salvation."  Therefore, the evangelistic practices that would breathe life into this horrid matter are found in the model of practice called R.A.P.I.D. that was formulated by D.A. Horton.

Restore Dignity to Blacks in the United States who are impact by police brutality and all forms of injustice.

Affirm the ethnic identity of Black Christians.

Promote "All" Black Lives Matter.

Institute Ethnic Conciliation that build relationships with Christians of all ethnicities.

Develop Biblical Guardrails for Co-Belligerency with like-minded believers, believers who may differ, and nod-believers that embody stewardship and missiological motives that advocate for justice. 

Evangelism as justice opens the doors of the sanctuary to people who lives have been deemed to be killed.  Evangelism as justice embodies the missional work of Jesus, as the transformational work of God that identifies God's presence; and moreover that tells Black men and women, God is on your side.  In essence, sharing the good news is a matter of awareness, not only about scripture and Jesus, but also about being aware of the context.  Thus, being aware of the context (especially where injustice is the order of the day) gives us the ability to share God's good news to victims of injustice, and witness to God's intervention in human matters.

As the God of Justice, God is calling the evangelistic community to practice a mode of evangelism that embodies the good news.  As witnesses of what God does in the life of Jesus and movement of the Holy Spirit, the church has been called to evangelize God's people not solely for conversion or church membership, "but also for the undertaking of action to release and to liberate" Black victims of police brutality and all forms of injustice.  And, when followers of Christ undertake liberative action, evangelism becomes a practice of restoration, in that, we become "repairers of the breach," sharing the the good news that proclaims Black Lives Matter because God is the God of Justice.

2016 a Random Retrospective

For me, 2016 was a year closure.  I was able to forgive and let go of many things that were hindering me from completion.  I recognize that the Creator has given me the profound gift of resiliency; resiliency not solely from the point of view of not giving up, but from the point of view of completing a cycle.  To put it differently, I would describe it as "Seeing It Through," a play off the great poem by Edgar A. Guest "See It Through."  To back track a bit, I want to say another word about forgiveness.  Forgiveness or forgiving some one is not only about you forgiving someone, it is also about you seeking forgiveness from those you have knowingly or unknowingly offended.  This also allows the doors of completion to be opened.  So, regardless if you are able to ask directly speak the person or by putting it out in the universe--our charge as members of the human family is to resolve all matters of forgiveness.  Forgiveness is a matter of the heart!

I was not as successful with my meat reduction, but I was able to end 2016 and move into 2017 on a raw food detox.  This has allowed me to reduce the intake of meat significantly.  My next objective is to work on my enjoyment of potato chips!  With chips and other snacks like my vanilla and oatmeal raisin cookies, bean pie, carrot cake and other enjoyable sweets I go through phases.  My health had been great up until September due to a slight setback, but I have made a significant comeback!  Graduation is on the horizon!  But, I have some things I need to resolve professional and career wise...   2017 looks to be interesting!  Intentionality*Prosperity*Insight*Focus*Service*Productivity

2015 in Retospect

The past year was a year of confirmation, controversy, and challenge. I have grown tremendously in my faith in Allah (God).  I still believe God is One regardless whatever name one chooses to call the ultimate transcended being.  I recognize I have been prepared to persevere and endure the race.   I recognize I have been prepared to surpass all that comes against me. I am thankful for God's intervention in my affairs.  The line my man Inspecta Deck spit in one of my favorite joints (Above The Clouds) ring relevant "Stand like colossus regardless to whom or what."  That is what 2015 has taught me to stand no matter the situation.  Standing is symbolic in that it is Faith, Confidence, Assurance, Humility, and Strength.  

 My health is well, however, I am looking to take it to a new level by reducing my meat intake to strictly to fish, some turkey, and lamb.  Yes, I am going to put the chicken down at some point within this year (Damn, I love me some Jerk Chicken).  Eventually, it will be strictly fish on my dish, as the great Rakim said.  I have been consistent with my physical training, and that has been a blessing, as I enter my fifth year post transplant.  

2016 looks to be a year of service, growth and completion.

It's Only a Test

If you are in a difficult time in your life please trust and believe that The Creator "got chu." Don't fear what comes to test or try you, God knew it would come. Your and my duty under trial is to trust and believe without fear and cowardice. The Scripture says to us:

Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you…” (1 Peter 4.12). Chambers says "If we do think the things we encounter are strange, it is because we are fearful and cowardly." The prophet Isaiah said, God said, "So, do not fear, for I am with you, do not be afraid, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my victorious (righteous) right hand" (41:10).

There's an oft repeated prayer by the Muslims that goes: "I seek refuge in Allah (God) from anxiety and grief, from the lack of strength and laziness, from cowardice and niggardliness. From being overpowered by debt and the oppression of men. Suffice me with what is lawful and keep me away from what is prohibited. And with your grace make me free from want of what is beside you." In times of trial or distress remember that it is only a test; and that God has given you and put inside you all you need to pass it. -Peace, Amen, Ameen, Ase

The Fourth of July: Blackwards...

Universal Greetings & Salutations To The People of The Human Family.  Today is independence day in America.  The historical relevance of this day is intricate and complicated.  For people of color like Native and African Americans the history is a stained and tainted one.  The declaration stated that "All men were created equal."  But those of us in the African and Native American community know this was far from the case.  Especially the fact that many of the signers of the declaration were slavers.  As the great ancestor Frederick Douglass pointed out in his 1852 speech "What to the Slave is the Fourth of July?" "I say it with a sad sense of the disparity between us.  I am not included within the pale of this glorious anniversary!  Your high independence only reveals the immeasurable distance between us.  The blessings in which you, this day, rejoice, are not enjoyed in common. — The rich inheritance of justice, liberty, prosperity and independence, bequeathed by your fathers, is shared by you, not by me.  The sunlight that brought life and healing to you, has brought stripes and death to me.  This Fourth [of] July is yours, not mine. You may rejoice, I must mourn."  The points Douglas makes are points that poke America contemporarily, perhaps not in the same context, but in the same sentiment.  The notion that America has become a post-racial nation is ludicrous.  The systemic evils that have crippled people of color especially Africans Americans suggest the rich inheritance of justice, liberty, prosperity, and independence, bequeathed by your fathers, is shared by you, not by us--in totality."

"The 4th of July is also not Independence Day for people of color.  It wasn't until the 15th Amendment was ratified in 1870 that all men had the right to vote regardless of race -- on paper, that is, not in practice. People of color were systematically, and all too successfully, disenfranchised for another century.  July 4th of 1776 was certainly not a day of Independence or reverence for Native Americans.  It wasn't until 1924 that Native Americans could unilaterally become citizens of the United States and have the voting rights to go with it." -Carina Kolodny

Make no mistake, America has come a long way since 1776, and she is a great nation, but, she has egregiously digressed.  Yes, even with the first sitting African American POTUS.  One may ask, "Why point this out?" "Why bring up the past?"  They may state "You are free, you could be living in a country like Iran or Cuba," or "If you dislike America then go live somewhere else."  I point this out because as a spiritual man, I know like the great Dr. MLK, Jr. knew "The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice."  I point this because as a spiritual, I know like author of Declaration of Independence knew "I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, that his justice cannot sleep forever."  I bring this up the past because as Malcolm X stated "“Of all our studies, history is best qualified to reward our research.  And when you see that you’ve got problems, all you have to do is examine the historic method used all over the world by others who have problems similar to yours. And once you see how they got theirs straight, then you know how you can get yours straight.”  America has not been beautiful for people of color, and when we hear from those who say they want to return America back to what she was or "never appreciated the benefits of local fascism," we tremble.  We tremble because we know what this type of patriotic-talk means.

When people of color bring up or point out America's past, it is not because we dislike or hate America, although some do, but it because we see what America can be.  The greatness that is in America inspires the world.  The goodness that is the America people inspires the world.  But the same can be said about the evil that is in America because there is a thin line between greatness, goodness, and evil.  Paraphrasing Minister Louis Farrakhan "One can be great, but that doesn't mean their good, because good is a moral quality that one possesses."  America's evils are seemingly outweighing her greatness and the goodness found in her

citizens.  All one has to do is look at the world picture screen to get a not so picturesque view of how America is seen throughout the world.  To the world America is at the top of "spiritual wickedness (existing) in high places," she is the master architect of "principalities--powers and rulers of darkness in this world."  In most instances, there is a difference between America and the American people.  Many American people know America has not been be all that she can be, they know that her laws are unjust, and they know that if she is the Christian Nation she claims to be that God's justice will not sleep forever, because it "rolls down like rivers of running water."  Many Americans see what Thomas Jefferson saw that America will have to answer for what she has done and is doing.

According to late psychologist Dr. Amos Wilson "Identity is essential to economics..." In other words, if one does not identity with one's culture its easy to spend your money with others. African American businesses often fail because we no longer identify with being Black holistically.  We've been Americanized in a way that has taken us from the idea of collective work & responsibility (Ujima) and cooperative economics (Ujamaa) as a people.  You darn for sure won't see the Chinese spending a ton of money outside of their community.

Dr. Umar Johnson says "teaching your child that they have a shared identity with their enemy is one of the worst things you can do."  Essentially, what Johnson is saying is, by assimilating ourselves into a system that constantly and consistently attacks Black culture, we are serving a death sentence.  Question is like Joe Madison - "The Black Eagle" often asks "What are you (we) gonna do about it?"  And, the reality is, we can do something about it, if we so choose, in spite of the obstacles.  

The Normalization of Sexual Orientation

The onslaught of media attention over one's sexual preference has hit a level of polarization that makes me wonder.  Why is the choice of one's sexual orientation a big to do?  Is there an agenda behind it?  Of course, I have some understanding of why, and we can run the issue from end zone to end zone.  That is not my undertaking here.   I believe it is one's right to have a preference, and I'm not opposed to that. But, to presuppose that being gay is the new Black, is extreme.  Notably, the LGBTQ community has experienced suppression in various forms, but not to the level of the Black community.  As one of my colleagues said, "There is no comparison."

If I decide to come out like radio host Rickey Smiley as "heterosexual."  Will that make the news or be written off as mere comedy?  When one decides to "come out" such as former pro athlete Michael Sam it truly is their decision, and everyone doesn't need to know.  It's the individual's business and responsibility to be comfortable with the skin their in--not mine, or anyone else's.  I am not an advocate of homophobia, and anyone who chooses to harbor ill feelings against those in the LGBTQ community must stand down.  Constructive honest dialog is the order of the day, and this is the approach I choose to take.

Theologically speaking, transgression is transgression, and the human family shares a common bond when it comes to wrong doing.  The question was raised in my theology class last night: Is being gay the sin or is the sexual act the sin?  There are strong arguments on both sides.  I don't believe being gay in "name" or "title" is a sin because gay, lesbian, etc. is one's sexual preference or orientation--not the sexual act.  According to the standard that the scriptures set biblically and quranically--the "sex act" is the sin.  Therefore, one cannot judge or condemn the LGBTQ community based on a "title."  Many hear the name or title, and automatically think sin.  At the end of the day, we all will have to present ourselves before God as one approved, and give account of our record.

The reality is, we are in a media age that puts the public into dissemination overload.  The attempt to "normalize" sexual preference and orientation makes me question the agenda.  

Do those in the LGBTQ community deserve the universal and inalienable human rights given to others?  Absolutely!  But, to normalize the obstacles the community endures as having something in common to the plight of the Black struggle is far from the crux of the matter.  Gay, being deemed as the new Black has become the new slogan... But, that is very offensive, misleading, and problematic on many levels, as being gay is not a badge of racial pride, especially when one thoroughly examines what it means to be Black and gay.  In fact, in many cases Black folk who are a part of the LGBTQ community have been alienated and marginalized because of their race, and not their sexuality.  *Originally written Feb 2014, Updated Feb 2016.

Richard Sherman -- Still a Thug!

Many people are blasting Seahawks defensive back Richard Sherman over his so-called "rant" after the Seahawks Superbowl win. He's been called every derogatory racial slur on the planet. According to reports he is being referred to as a "thug," "crazy man," "gangsta," "dangerous" and last but never least the proverbial "n-word." Now, as a former football player and current coach, I know what it means to play with heart and passion. When you have a competitive spirit, you compete, it's that plain and simple. Guys talk all type of smack in the game of sports on and off the field. It's part of the culture!
Now, do I agree with the many who said his remarks were mistimed, absolutely, but it is what it is, and what is is the game of football. Trash talking is a part of the culture of sports as mentioned above. While critics blasted the likes of Tom Brady (cursed out a referee), John Mcenroe (Classic rant on umpires) Coach Bobby Knight (Throwing chairs), and Coach Mike Gundy (I'm 40, I'm a man) for their rants. All of these individuals (who are White) were romanticized, and never forced to endure the type of derogatory onslaughts that Sherman and other Black athletes endure. Paraphrasing radio talk show host Joe Madison "If you're white it's alright, and if you're black it's not."

Let me switch to my social scientist hat... If you think we live in a post racial America I must say with all due respect-Stop Thinking It! Many people say "African Americans are always playing the race card." But, in all candor, I submit the card cannot be played if it is not in the deck. Black athletes have always been categorically castigated--while our white counterparts are romanticized. Think about some of the greatest rants in sports history. Sherman's exuberance is right in step with the same exuberance that a Serena Williams or Muhammad Ali exclaimed when they won. Ali was dragged through the media during his day, and he too, while not college educated was highly intelligent. America had never seen anything like the bold and charismatic Ali--Ali "shuck up the world," and the labeling of the African American athlete began. Sherman who grew up in Compton is being labeled as "America's New Thug." Never mind the fact that Sherman graduated from high school with a 4.0 GPA and went on to Standford to earn a 3.9 GPA--he's still a THUG!

In the words of Muhammad Ali according to Minister Louis Farrakhan during a conversation they had some years back--"The Champ" uttered these words "Still a nigger, brother." What Ali was saying to Farrakhan was that no matter how far African Americans have come in American life we are still thought of as "niggers."  Like blogger Olivia A. Cole wonders, I too am wondering " what it takes for a black man to be regarded as human in America." The categorical castigation of Black males continues and is a result of the perverted mind of white supremacy. I know many think we live in a post racial society, but the dominate power structure can't let it (power) go. The dehumanization of black males continues, and the idea of black male masculinity being seen as dangerous, obtrusive, and thuggish is woven in to the racial tapestry of American life.

Unity Among...

The reason I believe in unity among the various faith traditions especially those of the three Abrahamic Faiths is because Satan, the Devil, Shaitan, Beelzebub, the Evil One, etc. has the whole world of religion blinded like the Sons of God in the book of Job (who didn't even know Satan had come with them). This is all because of fervent arguments over doctrines and dogmas that keep our attention off of him (our common and open enemy) that prevent us from uniting to destroy this world of evil along with the Satanic mind that purveys in it. So, if you are person who loves truth that stands against the wiles of Satan (the Evil One), then it shouldn't matter what you call yourself or (I call myself) in terms of a religious title. ~Bro. Damn! Why can't I free myself from this Mental Slavery? I'm trapped and I can't get out!!!

See most of us think, myself included that it was "The White Man" holdin' us back!!! But when I finally realized, I found out it was really us who's holdin' us back, not "The White Man!"

Sowing A Seed: Tithing, Giving, & Charity

Check out how the Torah, Gospel, & Qur'an are bearing witness to one another in regards to Tithing, Giving, & Charity... These scriptures fell on my heart this morning thought I'd share... *Many people look at Sowing A Seed solely as a monetary thing. God knew that not only should we spend in His way monetarily, but spend in His way with integrity and honesty--by pouring into and serving others. God desires that we give generously of ourselves also (our time and service)--not just our money! God desires that we don't withhold what He has poured, is pouring, and will pour into us, for our service to Him and His people. We have been chosen to be Servant Leaders, not "Chump Leaders" or "Lip-Servers," but to be "Drum Majors," for justice, peace, & righteousness. This is why we are out front not for our sake, but for God's salvation, mercy, and grace working in and through us for the benefit of not only ourselves but more importantly others! In my humble estimation, that is the greatest example of a "Cheerful Giver," Jesus The Messiah was that kind of giver; He asked us "Will you lay down your life for the sheep, or will you run when the wolf comes?" Sow you seeds in good work, and surely you will "Super-Abound!" -Peace Be With You, Bro. Lamon

A friend asked me a question do we tithe from our gross pay or net pay?

My response was growth, but more importantly tithe from your heart. It's not about a % with God.

Note: Scripture makes a case for both, but it depends on how one interprets it in Deuteronomy. Dave Ramsey of Financial Peace University says it this way "It (Deuteronomy) says to tithe on your net increase. If you think about an agrarian culture where that was written, if you had a flock of sheep and one was killed by a wolf but you had 11 new lambs, then you had an increase of 10. You would tithe on that. You can make a really good case for it biblically either way. I'm not going to argue about it. It doesn't matter. Just give and be a giver. It's about changing your spirit anyway."

Give generously to him and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the LORD your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to. -Duet15:10 NIV

A Woman's Dress is Her Virtuousness: What Do You Have On?

Many of us stare at Muslim sisters or Catholic nuns whom wear head coverings known as a (veil, hijab, jilbab, khimar, or habits) especially when it's 90 degrees out side like "Why? Sister, Why?," not realizing that women wearing head coverings on their heads or clothing that does not reveal all their goods was practiced by ancient African and other Eastern civilizations.  The way a woman dressed back in the day was seen as scared and virtuous, and it reflected her divine nature.  She wasn't rockin' booty shorts and painted on dresses (know don't take me for being holier than thou because I like most men enjoy seeing an attractive woman walking down the street), but the way some women and in particular my sisters dress has gone too damn far, you might as well be naked!  Ladies, I am not try to tell you how to dress or even suggesting that you be a nun or MGT, but what I am doing is giving you a picture of an expression of virtuousness that suggests your Godly worth.  My thing is, aren't you sexually objectified enough in this world?  

Fellas: I say no matter if a sister refers to herself as a "Bad Bitch," or doesn't have a clue of her value, we as men must still respect her.  Now, I know your saying "Bruh, how can I if she's puttin' herself out there like that," and how could she say we're being misogynistic?"  My answer is simple: See the Goddess in her.

Provocatively Tasteful or Not?

Most Christians do not know that women covering their hair at service was also a common practice within Christianity.  Today, it is more commonly known for being practiced by Muslim women (though not a requirement for women to wear "hijab" in the Qur'an per se; the practiced is upheld based on doctrinal belief from the Hadith of Sahih Bukhari), Catholic nuns, and some Orthodox Jewish traditions.  However, hair covering in the early church was the standard at one time for women, and still is today by some Judeo-Christian traditions.  Women were expected to cover their hair with a large scarf (or shash) while in church, according to (1 Cor 11:2-16).  Note: The narrative given by Paul on women covering their hair is viewed by some as a part of his later diatribe in (1 Cor 14:34) that cogently suggests that women are to remain silent in the church, as form of submissiveness, which I do not particular agree with.  The idea of women covering up here, I contend was and is symbolic of their divine virtuousness that should be honored, cherished,
and respected by men.

Moreover, in Orthodox synagogues, especially in the Ethiopian church men and women sat separately, with men on the left and women on the right (when facing the altar)--very similar to what you have seen for instance, if you've ever visited Mosque Maryam in Chicago.  Sisters covering their hair and sitting separately from the Brothers in the sanctuary is common among some Oriental Orthodox, Eastern Orthodox, (prior to the 60's) with Catholics, and with many conservative Protestants (i.e. Adventist churches).  This is an interesting interwoven parallel between the three Abrahamic faith traditions.  So, next time you see a sister covered don't stare in astonishment, but acknowledge that she is upholding her faith and conviction not because she is restricted or weak, but because she is striving to exemplify virtuousness through her expression of her Godly worth.  ~Peace Be With You, Bro. Ibn Qudama in al-Mughni (1:349) explained that showing the face and hands are a specific dispensation within the general meaning of the hadith "All of the woman’s body is considered her nakedness [to those outside the mahram relationship or her husband]." (al-mar'atu `awra)

`Ayesha (rad.i-Allahu `anha) said: "I used to enter the room where the Messenger of Allah  and my father (Abu Bakr) were later buried in without having my garment on me, saying it is only my husband and my father. But when 'Umar ibn Al-Khattab (rad.i-Allahu `anh) was later buried in (the same place), I did not enter the room except that I had my garment on being shy from 'Umar."

Mumia Abu Jamal, Romaine "Chip" Fitzgerald, and "the countless others who have been falsely locked up by this white man."

A Different Thanksgiving Perspective

While I know most of us in the African American community "Get2Gether" on Thanksgiving with our families out of the tradition of gathering. We must never forget our Native & Indigenous Family (whom many of us claim we have mixed in us) imprint on this European holiday; it should never be diminished because of the fallacies in historical interpretation. One must never forgo truth for comfort; The truth should always make you uncomfortable if your guilty. As Susan Sarandon said "Speak Your Truth, Even If Your Voice Shakes."

Black Criticism vs Black Romanticism in Today's Political Climate

Corporate Interests Run America

Cornel West has held no punches in his intense and rigorous critique of President Obama. Many African Americans are very angry with the likes of Dr. West, Tavis Smiley, Boyce Watkins, & Julianne Malveaux for taking The POTUS to task on several key issues. However, as political constituents our duty is to question elected officials rigorously, and demand that they produce results in our interest. Other nationalities and ethnic groups do so.  It is great that we have the first elected African American President to sort of speak since John Hanson (first President of the Continental Congress) who was Black. However, we cannot allow romantic feelings cloud our political lens; luring us further and further away from self-empowerment and collective advancement especially the second time around.

I tend to believe President Obama has good intentions and desires in his heart to help poor and middle class people, but as Minister Farrakhan said when he was first selected [cough] excuse me elected; "I am under no illusion...," "he cannot truly do what is in his heart..." The powerful "Corporatocracy" influence engulfing him will not allow it. But, I say let's see he may prove his critics wrong, and represent the "Drum Major for Justice/Change," platform he ran his initial candidacy on.

However, the true ownness is on us to create and produce the change we desire to see in our neighborhoods. It has been stated that Black buying power will be estimated at 1.1 trillion dollars in two years; you mean to tell me we cannot pull together to create and produce a future? When you look at other nationalities such as the Chinese and Jews; rarely do they depend on government--they mainly do it themselves. We have to adopt this model in order to ensure a future for the generations to come.

I respect men and women like Minister Farrakhan, Dr. Bill Winston, & Sis. Nikki Henderson (The People's Grocery-Oakland) who present, create, and develop opportunities, that provide solutions outside of the false held notion of governmental dependency many African Americans faithfully hold on to. The Blueprints for our independence have been put before us for quite some time now. It is obvious as legendary reggae group Burning Spear said "No one remember Old Marcus Garvey," and the countless other "Great One's" whom came before and after him with the BLUE-PRINTS? The rise of The Sleeping Giant is IMMINENT!!!

Many people will ask, "what's the big deal?, it's just a shoe!"  "It's makes a fashion statement...," or, even worst when someone Black says "Who cares slavery is over and besides other Blacks sold Blacks into slavery."  What an asinine statement from someone who is not able to understand, and share genuine feelings of concern, for all of the pain and suffering our great-great grandparents endured while in chattel enslavement during the African Holocaust.

It is very saddening to note especially when someone who is Black makes such an absurd statement.  I can almost bet my last dollar, as guest columnist Tingba Muhammad noted in a recent column in The Final Call Newspaper, "It is almost impossible to imagine a Jewish person saying anything similar: 'Since there were Jews that financially supported Hitler, and Jews that were soldiers and officers in the Nazi army, and Jews that delivered other Jews to the concentration camps, I don’t want to hear about any Jewish Holocaust.'"  Indeed, such a statement is impossible to imagine to juxtapose the horror and ongoing effects of the suffering, pain and total destruction of a people.

Bottom line is, we have to educated, and teach our young people point blank not to buy into this buffoonery & trickery, like J-Cole said in the joint 'Nobody's Perfect,' "They killin niggas for J's, that's death over designer..."  At the end of the day, this is just another in a long line of signs, and as I like to cogently say "another kick in the ass!"  Time is long over do... WAKE UP & DO FOR SELF!

The above statement by Our Great Scholar & Historian, Dr. Clarke makes one ponder and reason... the disunity, discord, and bitterness among "God's Chosen People," "Glory of God," and/or "The Human Family" that we the members of "The Human Family," are described as, in both the scriptures of the Bible and Qur'an. This disconnect, strife, and quarreling among those especially, who are Jews, Christians, and Muslims is so appalling that it makes me sick to my stomach!  Especially, in the present context of evil machination, mendacity, and moral decadence that we are all experiencing and being subjected to on some level today, knowingly or unknowingly; willingly or unwillingly.

WE MUST BE UNITED!!! WE MUST BE ONE!!!

I can see why so many youth and people in general are turned off by religion. The Enemy of us all is so deceptively wicked and wise that the world of religion and faith has fallen on its death bed! It gives no hope to a people yearning for hope and like Min. Farrakhan said "Even if God were to intervene in our affairs and raise among us a divine light for us--we would be in such darkness that the light would be among us, and we would not be able to comprehend the presence of the light..." So, true indeed...

Today, there is a crop of Visionary Leaders coming out of the synagogue, temple, church, mosque, and perhaps more importantly "The Streets," today, whom have not fallen prey to the Enemy's trick that will restore Right Order and Balance to this Planet once again... Time Is Now!

The God above will not refrain any longer from bringing wrath to this "hell of a place," which will destroy, and that is destroying the idea of evil machination, mendacity, and moral decadence on this planet. Making way for the establishment of a complete Freedom, Justice, and Equality to reign once again, wherein all people can live among one another under the banner of true Peace! -The Brotha

God's Judgement

In the Bible it says "Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows" (Gal 6:7).

And in the Holy Qur'an it says "So the evil (consequences) of what they did shall afflict them and that which they mocked shall encompass them." (Surah 16: 34).

In this time of spiritual unbalance and disunity, which has The People of The Book, and the World in total disarray.  The Scriptures of the Bible & Qur'an are both fulfilling themselves as I write. We are seeing strange and unusual weather patterns, economic collapses, rising violence, and all other sorts of other signs that an end is near.  The pressures of the wickedness of this world is causing havoc among all people, and in order to defeat this overt and covert wickedness--all people of good will and intent must unify!  The Creator will not continue to settle for our foolish quarrels and bitterness towards one another.  Throughout the various monotheistic faith traditions especially, we see strife inside and outside among these traditions; and it is hated by God that we would continue to engage in such rancor, while our common Enemy and his minions continue to run and rule this world.

Time is Running Out!

Those who are prepared to endure God's Wrath, will be those who have kept to their duty, and obeyed God's instructions. The very reason Jesus The Messiah entered into the world 2000 years ago was to give us the Greatest Example of obedience, preparation, servant leadership and brotherhood known to man that no other Servant of God could provide us.  We must be doers of the Word, and continue to follow in The Masters' footsteps.  The time has come in which The Prophets predicted and he (Jesus) confirmed that God would return to judge this worlds nations.  “And the nations were angry and your anger has come....
